Roxcapes

Roxanne got up in the morning with a smile, went to bed with a smile, and always looked for opportunities to laugh. She didn't care about anything material. She was always doing for others, at the expense of doing for herself, and she always did it joyfully. She handled the cancer privately with strength beyond my understanding, and all the while said she was going to stay. Somewhere deep inside, though, her soul knew the truth. I suppose that's why she came to me in a lucid dream three weeks before transitioning, and said she was going home. She never complained about anything, and took everything in stride. Not sure what I ever did to deserve her, but sure am glad I did it. She used to always tell me I was the best of the best, but the truth is, Roxanne is/was the best. She was in physical form, but she was not of this world.
